本日は最近気になっているウルトラハードなレースについてご紹介。

 

Atlas Mountain Race.

今ちょうど開催されているモロッコでのレースで、15日から22日までの1週間で総距離1145km、獲得標高20,000mという決められたコースを大会側からのサポートなしでソロまたはペアで順位を競うもの。やべー。

似たようなレースで、Silk Road Mountain Raceというものがあって、そちらはキルギスという国で行われていて、2週間で1800km、獲得標高は30,500mです。これにいつか出てみたいなぁなんて調べていたら今回のレースもヒットしました。

 

 

どうですか。やばそうですよね。冒険心くすぐられますよね。

最近ドラゴンボールのアニメを1から見始めた僕は、この世はでっかい宝島って感じです。そうさ今こそアドベンチャーって感じです。ギャルのパンティおーくれ。

Welp, that’s a wrap for me. If you’ve been following dots or my stories then you know by now that I’ve had to scratch from @atlasmountainrace. It took less than 24 hours of racing before a severe mechanical stopped me in my tracks. Not sure how it happened, but it did and it was the kind that has no fix so ????????‍♂️????????‍♂️????????‍♂️. I’ve been in a strange headspace since I was forced to mostly hike 20 miles to the nearest town to hire a ride to the next nearest town to hire a ride to the finish line where I’ve been hanging out alone. I am not so bummed about the scratch as I am to have split up the team and force @notchas out on his own when this is something we set out to do together. Even still, racing ultras always seems to hit me with some life lessons whether they go well or terribly. In this case I am reminded that no matter how well you prepare yourself for something there are always variables that fall out of your control and you have no choice but to roll with it. MASH SFでおなじみ、Chas ChristiansenもこのAtlas Mountain Raceに友人のNicoと一緒に参加してたようです。このようなレースではラックやかご無しで取り付け可能なバイクバックに水、食料、テント、衣類等を詰め込んで走るバイクパッキングスタイルがほとんど。彼はLOW BICYCLESに乗っていますね。しかもタイヤはULTRA DYNAMICO。ここがつながると思っていなかったので意外。機材トラブルなどもあり、途中で二人ともリタイアしてしまったそう。この二人がリタイアするって相当です。

ALLRIGHT!! Done with the rider briefing, READY TO ROLL!! So stoked to start the inaugural @atlasmountainrace tomorrow!! . . 二人とも自転車がかっこいい。ラックにパニアバッグのスタイルも好きですが、バイクパッキングは「荷物たくさん積んでも早く走りたい」って気持ちをかなえてくれます。その分持ち運べる荷物は限られてしまいますが、限られた容量の中で荷物を考えてパッキングするのが醍醐味でもあります。

 

BLUELUG Shiodome RIDE 2020/02/04車種は全然違いますがLOWに乗らせてもらう機会があって、めちゃくちゃいいバイクだなぁなんて感じちゃったもんだから気持ちはもうLOWでモロッコです。すぐに影響されちゃう。

いつかはこんなレースに出てみたいなぁというご紹介でした。
