INTERGALACTIC SURLY DAY参加された皆様お疲れさまでした。そしてありがとうございました。実はその日にちょうどお休みをいただいてしまっていて参加できなかったのですが、インスタグラムの盛り上がりを見ていーなーとちょっぴり嫉妬しました。

アメリカ本国でもSULY DAYはじまってます。

WOW 2 rides in 1 week! Thank you to everyone who pedaled with us for the @surlybikes Intergalactic Ride last night and all of our bad ass WTF-NB riders on Monday. Also, thank you to our reps who keep me sane. There’s a sad old joke about bike shop owners never actually riding bikes, and there’ve been times this year when that’s certainly felt true. So thank you to 50+ incredible people for getting me out on 2 wheels and reminding me why I have the best job. I feel so grateful every time I get to roll around this town with you. #herestomorerides #intergalacticsurlyday #wtfbikexplorers #seeyalatersummer

HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY SURLY BIKES !!!! A few dozen of our shop family celebrated #intergalacticsurlyday by heading out to the forest of Mount Pinos to be like a family camping and celebrating a birthday. Besides a whole slew of locals, the @surlybikes head of everything leader @paulzeigle was our guest for the weekend of which we were deeply honored by his travel to us and enjoyed spending time with this terrific character. Besides running @surlybikes he can ride a bike. Ride it fast, down a beer and be talked off the ledge during the talent show campfire from having to show off his fart lighting talent. (No demonstrations necessary. We believe you Paul.) Our 3 days and 2 nights camping out in the woods included so so much fun. Riding the amazing McGill trail a few times. We ate tons of fun camp food, had perhaps the most spectacular evening of guitar playing and story telling. We played light night pitch dark hide-and-go-seek. Poetry on the mountain top and Subaru hood somehow stuck in the trail. Kids played around the camping area, cartwheels happened, @rover_shopdog joined in for a ride. We had a blast. Old friends stopped by, new friendships were made and a new respect for the evening campfire guitar players reached an all time high. We had the absolutely best evening last night of common experience, fun and friendship that it is hard to put into words. More photos to follow. Here are a few.

そんな今日はいつもの街乗りSURLYとはちょっと違った1台のご紹介。
SURLY KARATEMONKEYです。この自転車はSURLYが考えるマウンテンバイクで、ツーリングバイクでもあります。
マウンテンバイクのフレームには珍しく、フロントフォークにきちんとダボがついているので荷物をたくさん積んだダートツーリングも可能ですし、サスペンションに履き替えればダウンヒルまでこなせちゃう。土系に寄ったフレームの中で最強かもしれない。個人的な見解です。
