Hi, it’s Jugg.

Do you know the film called “Sneakers“? It’s a thriller movie not about sneaker shoes but the hacking in 1992. I’m talking about the film because it was an anniversary of River Phoenix’s passing the other day, he was in the film.

By the way, isn’t it better to watch the films in the 90’s on VHS? Well, if there’s a video player still working fine though…

Okay, let’s go to the topic of the day.

Let me introduce the products with Dyneema fabric recently restocked since the last time a while ago. (check HERE if you are not familiar with this fabric)

The biggest feature of the fabric is that “it’s light but strong”.

In my opinion, this light fabric goes great with simple-made products such as FAIRWEATHER’s Packable sacoche, Dry sack and Mame wallet. Also since the fabric isn’t moisture permeable nor elastic, it’s better to use it for bags rather than clothes.

After all, I like this one-and-only half-transparent and rough texture. Well, this may look like a plastic bag instantly but I always object that “it’s a chic plastic bag!” in my mind when using it.The rough texture gets softer while using. It’s like… a texture of high quality Japanese Washi paper (IMO). The photo below shows a comparison of a new one and mine using more than a year.Well, while I explained a lot about it, I just simply like the feeling of the fabric. Also, I’m focusing on Dyneema here but we have our classic Sil-nylon one so please check that out as well.

Next, let me write about the differences of weight, size and transparentness between the fabrics.

Weight → Dyneema < Sil-nylon < X-PAC

Folded Size → Dyneema = Sil-nylon < X-PAC

Transparentness → X-PAC < Sil-nylon < Dyneema

You can fold dyneema and Sil-nylon ones more compact because they are thinner compared to X-PAC. It really depends though, there must be some people who prefers X-PAC’s firmness. I hope the comparison helps you to choose the right fabric for the purpose.I put the pen case and sketchbook to compare their transparentness. It will be easy to find them in your bag if you choose flashy colours for Dry sack or Mame wallet, otherwise choosing different colours depends on the contents inside would be convenient too. The transparent fabric might be helpfull as well!

It won’t bother me to have these kinds of bags as much as I need since I like packing. “The ideal packing” with the great bags can make your travel even more exciting.

Well then, have a great packing with them!
