You don’t know what I’m talking about? Well, let me explain.
So UNVER is a project I have been working on. UNVER is basically a track bike company and I’ve made a few bike related products, but I had an opportunity to make sunglasses with Sunkak, a Japanese based eyewear brand.
My friend Paolo, who is one of the Sunkak crew, but he’s also a bike messenger gave me a ton of feedback we were able to make a really sick eyewear.
I was fortunate to do a launch event of the sunglasses at a cool shop in Shibuya called “PULP”. I was so stoked to see many people from many places and generations get together and have fun.
Thankfully, many people asked for an online release for these shades and I’m very happy that I was able to make it happen!
UNVER rapid prototype
It’s unbelievable to think that it’s already been a year since I launched UNVER.
I am super blessed to receive an overwhelming amount of positive feedbacks and so thankful that the Rapid frame is nearly sold out. I am currently working on the production of the next batch of the frames.
There were some itty bitty technical issues with the first batch of the frames, which is mostly why I avoided selling them online. The next batch would have some small tweaks with almost the same geometry and should be ready for online purchases.
After owning my own bicycle brand, I learned a lot of new things and I have so much respect for all the companies who make frames. Mash and Crust have such great marketing skills and so much creativity. And don’t get me started on the trust for Surly products.
I’ll try and keep things improving the brand with the riders of UNVER and our mechanics!
