Hello it’s Natsumi from Blue Lug online store team, how have you been? I hope everyone is doing all right.

Here in Tokyo, the weather is quite random like some days are quite warm and suddenly temperature drops drastically. The streets are decorated and people are busy getting ready for the Christmas, it’s my favorite season actually. What I usually do around Christmas time is getting some sweets from Sunday Bake Shop (their sticky toffee pudding is my favorite btw). It was so fun to have it with Chuyan-san, Digi-san, Aro-chan and Konno-san last year. I’m so happy that I could reserve the cake this year too.

Today I’m going to write not only about the cake but also the present for Christmas!

Let me write about these cute items perfect for this kind of season.It’s our favorite “The Day Pack”! I requested to make them of waxed-canvas this time.

I’m quite happy that both wax natural and wax grey colors turned out super cute! Another special thing of this time is that they are only available our online stores which we had never done before. I asked MAX-san, the boss of our sewing team to order them, Arigato-gozaimasu MAX-san!

Let me tell you how this happened…

Thankfully, while we get a lot of orders from the online store there are some popular products such as 137 tote bag and The Day Pack. I also had known that 137 tote bags made of waxed canvas are particularly popular even for the staff! Ultimately I told my colleagues that I came up with an idea to combine them and they liked it! That’s how these exclusive day packs turned out here.

I collaborated with Aro-chan who designs our T-shirts and stickers as well as taking photos for our website to design the details of the bag. It was so much fun to think how to make the bags great with her!

From the colors of the waxed fabric and colors and thickness of the stitch to the material of the zipper… We worked hard on the process to make something I want with a lot of advices from the sewing team since I had never done such work.

The main part is made of waxed canvas same as the 137 tote as I mentioned before. Some of you might think of the waxed natural that “White bag is difficult not get dirty!” but it’ll be a charm of the bag eventually.

↓This is Aro’s 137 tote she actually uses, it has got cuter as the bag has been used.We really couldn’t decide the stitch color but we thought the camel color is the best in the end.

I think the colors turned out elegant but yet not too subtle.

 

Another thing we worked hard on was that “Men can wear them cute”.

The round shape of the day pack and the coziness of the waxed canvas are pretty, aren’t they?

By the way, basic spec (shape, size, pockets etc) is same as the classic Day Pack so it’ll be perfect for your trips in Christmas and new year’s time. I’m going back to see my family for 4 days with this day pack.
