We are very excited to announce our first collaboration with Crust Bikes🎉

Check out the special color frames!

I learned about Crust personally around 2016 through the internet. After three years after, I was finally able to build and ride their bikes and the rest is history. It’s truly an honor to be collaborating with them.

The collaboration features special colors of the Evasion and Bombora frames and we also got one color of each normal colors

The Evasion is available in the Purple Galaxy and our special color Orange Speckle.

It’s a very fun color that would look great with anodized parts.

The Bombora is available in the Pastel Violet and the special color Turquoise Crackle.

There is a Tokyo related story behind the special colors, but let’s just go ride in the Tokyo streets and you’ll probably see what we did for these.

We built the bikes up and headed to Shibuya.

Did you find any clues in there Ming?

Gathering information at the coffee stand?

Ok, enough.

Let me explain…

When you arrive in Shibuya Tokyo (where two of our shops are located) and start walking, you’ll soon notice many orange buses, wrapped in dog character designs are everywhere. You’ll soon notice people on turquoise electric scooters zipping through traffic.
The Bus is called “Hachiko Bus” a bus named after a legendary Akita dog remembered for his remarkable loyalty to his owner, whom he continued to wait for over nine years following the owner’s death at the Shibuya station. The Hachiko bus is a miniature bus that transport passengers around the Shibuya ward. (There is even a Hachiko statue in front of Shibuya Station)
The electric scooters are easy rental e-scooter/e-bike service that started to popup in the streets of Tokyo around 2019.
The special color Evasion frames were inspired by the orange Hachiko buses, and the special color Bomboras were inspired by the turquoise scooters.
Public transportation is great, but as a bike shop, we want more people to ride bikes to get around Tokyo. In other words, both Hachiko Bus and LUUP are our closest competitors!
We thought it would be like a fun joke to use the color these two big public transportation vehicles as samples of this project.
