“Four-grip”= One of the way of how to wrap bar tapes which I named.
As you can see on the photo of below, the part of blue wrap is what is it.
In my opinion, to make “Four-grip” more wider is the key for current Riv bike.
If you can use “Four-grip” well, your ride (especially to climb) will be better.
That’s the example how I grab it, it’s more useful when I standing on the pedals to climb. The bar on the bike is Tosco.
Some riders try to grab it when they going down on the hill, but I don’t recommend because you can’t grab the brake levers quickly. Just in case.
I always ponder to wrap “Four-grip” more wider by pursue more better cabling and placing of shifters.
The length of the grips are one of examples, we usually wrap there around 130mm mostly as same as common grips on the market, but below is the example around 110mm.
Mr. Grant, the owner of Riv bike calls it “Full-grip version” or something.
Sometimes he wrap there around 90mm. More shorter grips are needed to make it or sometimes need to be cut.
In this case, when I grab the “Four-grip”, the adjuster bolts are are hit and makes hurt on my hand.
If so, take them off! That’s the small things.
You maybe worried about take them off, but remember it, SHIMANO used to make some levers without adjusters.
Then,
Nothing disturb you, the supreme feeling.
Ofcorse I understand usual grip is enough, but if you use “Four-grip” more better, your ride will be more better.
I recommend to try it if you installed those kind of bar with big sweep-back bar on your bike!
