I’m excited about the collection of Pilgrim Surf+Supply x Blue Lug every year.
This year, I bought two of them.
*PILGRIMxBLUE LUG* velocity vest (black) Size: small
*PILGRIMxBLUE LUG* alpha pullover (navy) Size: small
I bought the velocity jacket last year and it was so good, so I think the vest version is also nice. The good point is that it’s made of thin fabric, but it works really well as a windbreaker. Of course, it’s originally intended to be so, but it keeps you warm more than expected.
However, I’m a bit sensitive to heat and I’ve used the jacket mainly in the fall to the winter, so this vest version is gonna be my go-to clothing for all seasons. Even in the hot summer, we sometimes need something to put on in too much air conditioned place.
Speaking of the size, I’m 163cm (5.34 ft) and this is me putting on the vest (small) on the t-shirt (*BLUE LUG* best friend t-shirt for guuyan medium). There’s still a room.
I think this size is just right for me because I wanna put on a thick sweatshirt or a sweater in the winter.
You don’t need think about the size too much since you can adjust it a little bit with the drawcords on the hems.
For the pullover, I was wondering between small and medium which Duncan (second from the left) is wearing in the picture, but as I mentioned, I chose small for me because I’ve already known it’s warm enough with a long sleeve t-shirt or a sweater.
If you have a plan to wear it with the velocity vest, I’d recommend to take the same size as the vest.
It’s really difficult to choose clothes for riding. We always feel cold just after you leave home, but we’ll soon feel hot when you start pedaling. We have to match one or another, but I tend to choose my clothes for the time when I feel hot.
I believe a vest is just right for such a occasion and I’ve been using down vest for couple of years. It’s also my favorite point that it’s not so bulky when not wearing.
So excited that I got the alpha pullover and the velocity vest this year.
I’m now undefinable to the cold and all we do is just wait for the winter!
(By the way, I’m wondering if I should buy the alpha pants… I think it’s definitely good for walking the dog.)
