Jammin with Jam Bars!
I had an opportunity to build a CRUST BIKES NOR‘EASTER for a display bike.
Should I build disc brake or canti…, sike! I already knew I wanted to build the canti version.
I might have built a demo bike that I truly love…I almost don’t want anybody to buy this beauty.
The graphics on the bike is bright and fun, but it rides super mellow and felt easy when I was building this bike.
A touring bike with 1 inch threaded stem that can fit MTB tires.
I wanted to build a bike like this and this frame was perfect for this type of build.
I cannot get over with these kinds of bikes.
I know, it’s not the same, but the Crust also has their charm which I love.
2×9 set up. A classic set up since I chosed to build the Canti version.
I wanted to build this bike with parts that you can get anytime, instead of the latest parts. I wanted to show that you can build this bike up with parts you have laying around in your garage.
(This frame is designed for 1x only but I was able to fit MTB FD with these cranks!)
DC980 canti brakes x TECH 5 brake lever The combo I’ve wanting to do.
I was skeptical if the canti brakes would stop 27.5 x 2.8″ tires, so I swapped the brake shoes to Kool Stop brake shoes.
And the results were amazing. It stops like a champ.
I think the secret is in the levers. If any of you with a 90s MTB struggling with not having enough stopping power, I highly recommend.
The grip is the Attack grips from ODI. The gum color is pretty new.
Huh? What’s that? What are these bars?
I see you have a keen eye, my friend.
We Be Jammin’ with “JAM BAR”
This will be the 3rd handlebar designed by me, Kaneyan, the man who’s constantly looking for comfy but fun handlebars.
I named it the Jam Bar.
These will be available for purchase from
July 20th (in stores)
July 21st at 7:00 p.m. (ONLINE)
Like the Hi-Bar and the HiHi-Bars, Nitto helped me to bring these bars to life.
The kinks and the chrome plated steel bars are just beautiful.
I was inspired by some beach cruiser bar that someone left in the trash of our workshop.
I picked it up and headed over to the vise to bend it to make it into a shape I preferred.
Yes, that is how the idea of this handlebar started.
The handlebar you see in the picture is actually the trash bar I am talking about. (Chuyan spotted me before work.)
I wanted a handlebar that looks like a beach cruiser bar but also feels good when popping wheelies.
You see? It works! Mad air!
All jokes aside…
There are tons of different handlebars in the world.
Drop bars, riser bars, sweep bars, etc…
All those handlebars are constantly changing which always makes us stoked.
However, a beach cruiser bar is just a beach cruiser bar. They never evolve or get modernized.
Which made me think that there was a huge possibility in them. So big, that I thought it was a waste.
Beach cruiser bars are basically a diamond in the dirt, that ain’t been found.
Look at the curves and the rise.
I always knew there was something in beach cruiser bars.
I added a bit of flare to typical cruiser bars.
If you look at the bars from the side, you can tell that there’s a small resemblance of the Hi-Bar.
The grip area is bent slightly upwards, which makes wheelies easy.
If you install them tilted up, you can feel and look rad
By tilting the grip downwards, you now have a chill bar.
I love the fact I was able to get two different positions from this unchangeable handlebar called beach cruiser bars.
I hope you enjoy Jamming with these new bars!
