After coming back from the OMM racing event, I was having an urge to cruise the my usual Tamagawa River loop with my friends. No checkpoints no rushing just pure fun.

Not trying to shit on the OMM event, but I would much prefer this kind of riding rather than racing. It was so fun to laugh and to fuck around with the homies.

A bicycle is not something you have to ride hard on. It’s a tool and a toy for our life. Everything is not about competing and wearing tight clothes. Riding in plain clothes and enjoying your surrounding is also a way to ride bikes.

This is what many of the alt-cyclists who we talk to taught me, people like Adam from Calling In Sick Magazine, Russ from Path Less Pedaled, Grant-san from Rivendell and more. I strongly agree with their philosophy and I know for a fact that many of you who are reading this is on the same page.

With all that being said, I do admit that riding in cotton t-shirts in the summer time can be a bit frustrating at times.

However, wearing a traditional lycra Mr. Incredible type shit is not an option. We wanted something that would look good with the clothes we wear. OMM was right around the corner by the time we had a conversation about a cycling wear we can wear, so we thought it was a great time to make a tech tee.

We talked to our friends at Cadence and they made the Blue Lug loser tech tee for us.

I was super into early 2000s Motocross gear, so I took the inspiration.

Check out this Fox Racing shirt. It’s got a huge fox face printed, making it look like the shirt has a big crack pattern.

What can we do to our shirt to make it look like it has a giant crack…Ah! Tokyo itself already looks like a crack!

You’re definitely grew up in the early 2000’s if you can tell I got the inspirations of the style of the font and this kind of slightly corny quote.

also this type of badass looking cartoon characters.

Ming suggested that he wanted something on the sleeve, but didn’t know what would look cool. I remembered our senpais making a jersey in the early days and it said “Kiroku Yori Kiyoku” on the neck, so we borrowed their idea to pay homage to the Blue Lug OGs. Kiroku Yori Kiyoku means that memories are more important than records.。

Hats off to Cadence for the great quality in their products. I love how the design came out.
