Blue Lug Bicycle Shade Caps

New Bicycle Shade Caps are out now.

Apparently, these types of hats with shade flaps has roots in French soldiers. They are sometimes referred as “Legionnaire Hat”. Though they were first used as uniforms, they began to become popular in the outdoor scene around the 1970s-80s and became the staple for outdoor gears.

The flaps are great for protecting your neck from sun burn and heat stroke, but I think they also simply look nice for a fashion stand point, especially for summer when your outfit becomes too simple.

It feels nice when the flaps flap around when riding a bike. You get to feel like Dumbo🐘

Nowadays, the heat in the summer time is no joke. You don’t want to be feeling miserable from having a heatstroke when you’re out riding with your pals. Protect your neck, stay hydrated and enjoy the fun ride.

We have two variations of the hats with overall simple designs.

Normal side panel types,

and mesh side panel types.

The fit and the features other than the shade flaps are the same as our Duckbill Caps. They have unstructured bills, making them easy to stow away in bags and deflects the wind.

The adjusters are made with an elastic band, nylon strap and a plastic buckle. The flap can be tucked in the adjuster strap when you don’t need it, which was something that we didn’t intend.

Not only they’re suitable for summer bike riding, but great for all sorts of summer activities.
