Bike Checks from Blue Lug Kamiuma
It’s still freezing cold in Tokyo. Actually, Tokyo recorded the lowest temperature in 48 years last month. What a heck! I can’t wait for return of spring. Anyhow let me do some bike checks in Blue Lug Kamiuma!
The first bike is Surly Cross Check. The owner goes to art school, so he has a good taste.
The bar tape is the Cinelli ana benaroya ribbon. This one is weirdly fresh.
The groupset is Shimano Alivio 9 speed. This is more affordable than Shimano high-grade groupset yet as durability as the high-grade.
Mr. Matsuo, who just joined Blue Lug used Shimano Alivio 9 Speed when he traveled all around Japan. He literally proved the Shimano Alivio is the right choice.
The tires are the Panaracer Gravel King SK. It is great for any kind of roads, pavement to gravel road.
He said he will try bike touring on this bike during holiday. I am very happy to hear like that word. We will help to put racks and kickstands later. It must be nice!
The next bike is Surly Straggler. The wheel size is 650B, which is an another standard for MTB nowadays. On remote gravel roads, it is significantly faster to accelerate and easier to flick around than a bigger wheels. The guy wanted a bike for daily urban ride and bike touring so this bike is perfect for him.
The handlebar is Jones Loop H-Bar. The front rack is Surly 24-Pack Rack.
The tires are WTB Byway. The tires offer supple plus-size traction and smooth riding characteristics.
The tan skin is a great accent on the green / black color bike.
Speaking of black color, the black down tube cable adjusters are very special. Dia-Compe made them exclusively for us. Last time we stocked them, it sold out in no time.
Blue Lug kamiuma has a lot of gravel cycling parts, like tires and handlebars. Please visit and say what’s up to us when you come to Tokyo. See you later!
