I wanted to load a Nalgene bottle on the down tube cage mount on my 52 Crust Romanceur Disc.

There is a lot of cages that fits Nalgene bottles, but I chose the ABC cage, which is a very handy bottle cage that has adjustable dials.

I like this cage a lot. I honestly think this cage is all I need for all bikes. That’s how convenient they are.
(Little did I know that there are times this cage isn’t co convenient)

Alright, let’s install the cage on the down tube triple cage mount. Hmm, this seems to be touching the front tire…

Okay, let’s try the and put the cage further towards the chainring using the two holes that are closure to the chainring.

There, now its got plenty of clearance.
…huh!?

Dang! Now it’s touching the chainring. The cage itself is a bit bulky due to the adjustable dials, so there are some downsides to the product in cases like this.
So I decided to try the Widefoot cargo mount instead.

This cage is flatter than the previous one and requires Voile Straps to fix the load.

It’s on, but the clearance is very tight.

This is not good.
This’ll do if I had a 1x set up, but my bike being 2x, the Nalgene bottle will touch the inner chainring when shifting. They don’t touch each other once it’s in gear, but it bothers me, so I decided to load my poncho on the downtube cage.

I could’ve went with the ABC cage is I’m stowing my poncho here, but I stuck with the Widefoot cargo cage mount, since it looks better.
