A lot of tourists visit our shop during summer, and today a cute couple from Boston stopped by.

Spencer and Samantha came to Japan for a 2-week bike tour.

Actually, I already knew him through instagram before. He rides a great bike and makes awesome bicycle patches.
Surprisingly enough, he used to live in Japan, so it wasn’t very hard to communicate with them.

Surly Cross-Check
This is Spencer’s Surly Cross-Check. Cross-check is a great commuting bike and perfect touring road bike.

These Swift Industries bags are outstanding, the Ozette randonneur bag and the zeitgeist saddle bag. While panniers are hard to be evenly balanced, handlebar bag and saddlebags are more stable in most case.

The light mount is his original. I admire his creativity.

I’ve seen a lot of bike tourists using VP-001 pedals. MKS grip king pedals are also popular among them though.

*Velo Orange Campeur*

Samantha rides Velo Orange Campeur. As the name suggests, this is a Velo Orange touring bike.
The bike looked very clean, so she probably built this bike up for this trip.

The front rack is the SimWorks Potluck. The wine red bar tape is a great match with the metallic gray paint job.

The saddlebag is the Swift Industries Zeitgeist. This is their 10th anniversary model.

The crankset is Grand Cru Drilliut Fluted Double cranksets.

The saddle is the Brooks B17-S (ladies).

They are going to the Biwa lake and then going to Kyoto after. Hope they are having a great time in Japan.

Please stop by our shops if you come to Tokyo. Any time you need help on your bicycle journey, we will be here to help you!
