New Parts on Old MTB
Hello! This is Duncan. I’m a mechanic of Blue Lug Kamiuma. Blue Lug Kamiuma is like the place where true bike fans come to hang out. Today one of them bright the old Mangoose MTB.
I forgot to take a photo before I worked on but the bike was like this. The suspension fork, huge canti brakes and the flat handlebar were old set-up like you can feel the history.
Boom! We installed many good parts!
The new fork is Surly Troll’s rigid fork, which can install disc brakes or canti brakes.
The fork has enough eyelets to install the Surly 24-pack front rack. The brakes are Paul Component.
The handlebar is the Surly Moloko bar. Like Velo Orange Casey’s crazy bar and JONES loop H-bar, the handlebar provides multi positions.
The wheels are Velocity atlas rim with Shimano deore hubs. The classic looking wheels fit the bikes well.
I think the current parts like brakes and wheels are way better than old high quality parts and easier to maintain.
