Losco Bar Origins And New 610mm Width
The Nitto Losco Bars have been around for a while now. As you can see by the images shared above, we’ve built so many bikes with these bars. (you can way more builds here)
Did you know that they were actually designed by one of our staffs Matsu? (He goes by Mat now)
Back when Nitto only had the Bosco bars, Mat always felt some awkwardness to how they feel. The rise was too high for some bikes and he would often see smaller bikes that had the saddle set way lower than the handlebar.
(I think my Clem is a good example)
Here’s another Clem in the same frame size, 46.
You see what I mean?
Mat basically wanted a low rise Bosco Bar and that actually became the name of the handlebar he designed. Low Bosco = Losco.
Mat has a funny way of starting his handlebar design. He always makes a mock ups by bending paper clips like so.
One of the cool features of the Loscos are the sleeves? Nitto calls them ferrule.
The Knight Emblem logo (not sure that’s the correct name) is badass.
It’s not just badass, you can use them with the Nitto V-5 stem, which will secure the handlebars nicely.
We recently had a big restock on the Losco Bars and with the new 610mm width.
Here’s a comparison of 610mm, 540mm and 480mm. Damn the new size is wide as hell.
Mat built up a lovely jubbly Platy with the 610mm Loscos, which you can see HERE.
