End Of Summer bike check
The daytimes are still hot, but we’re starting to feel that autumn breeze at night.
When it feels nice out, we simply get hyped for cycling and I think a lot of people are feeling the same way.
Those were some pics I took during the weekend. We had a lot of customers who are in need of repairs and part swaps this weekend.
The gentleman you see in the picture above had a happy bike day. His Black Mountain Cycles Monstercross was finished and picked up. He apparently rode 42km, back to his place. Nice.
Here’s a bike check of the recent project I worked on.
STRIDSLAND beach comber size : S
Stridsland is one of the new brands we started carrying recently.
They make 26+ bikes, which feels pretty fresh for us since most bikes we build are bikes that take 700c or 650B/27.5″.
Once I started working on this bike, I noticed that this frame had some cool details all over, such as the cable routing, eyelets and braze ons. It’s one of the newer brands out there but I had a ton of fun finding cool details as a bike mechanic.
The owner of this bike came all the way to Hatagaya from Kyushu. He specifically visited us to get this bike.
Not only the frame, he already had some build ideas in mind, so it made things very easy.
These Ignite Cranks are beautifully machined, with a bit of an old school taste.
We went with AARN chainrings to give the bike this distinctive look.
Ron’s Ortho Bars, providing comfiness while having that shreddy feel.
Very tasty set up with those blue Oury grips and the Paul levers.
Last but not least, the custom made Fairweather as the cherry on top.
The bag is attached with nylon cords on the top tube and bolts that are going through the bag to the down tube, to securely place the bag.
This was truly a fun bike to work on!
