Custom Painted Bommie
I have been hitting the mountains lately.
We usually drive to a spot where we can do some trail riding. Trail rides are hard, causes pain sometimes and the mountains themselves are pretty far, but I always end up having a ton of fun out there. That’s why I can’t stop going.
The distance isn’t too much of a pain for me actually, because I like to drive my car. (Mazda Roadster aka Miata)
Load up my favorite bike to my favorite car, escape the city, enjoy the bike and come home. An ideal way to spend my day off.
Okay, now for the main topic of this post.
*CRUST BIKES* cook paint bombora frame
This Bombora was one of the special painted Crusts painted by Konno at Cook Paint Works for his little project.
The frame found an owner and I was fortunate to build it up for him. The owner fell in love with the frame at first sight. He had many other bikes, but it is apparently his first bike to fit such big tires.
Handlebars : BTCHN 4130 Low Riser Bar.
The brand owner of BTCHN, Tyler’s creativity always blows our minds. We all love the products he makes.
Stem : Paul Boxcar Stem
You already know how great they are.
Brake Levers : Paul Canti Levers
I mean, it just makes sense.
Not only the frame is specially painted, we even painted the frame pump to match the frame itself.
It was funny because I thought about talking to the owner about the custom painted frame pump, but he ordered it before I made the suggestion.
Chainring : AARN Narrow Wide Chainring.
Cranks : Rotor
1×11 set up.
I used an adaptor to make the cranks to accommodate non-spider chainrings.
Rack : Tubus Tara Front Rack.
These racks have light mounts, so you can build a clean dynamo set up.
Ah, what a nice finish. I can’t get over how nice the paint job is.
How would you rate the build?
I love that the logo has an aged white color, rather than a plain white. I can’t wait to see the bike gets worn out.
Bikes are just objects, but it’s always fun to add your character as you ride them for many years.
