Are eco bags a thing in your country?
“Eco bag” is a word used in Japan to describe a bag you bring to a grocery store for avoid getting a plastic bag from the store.
Is that a thing in your country as well? I’m not sure, I haven’t been out of Japan for a long long time.
If you come to Japan, you will soon find out that almost everything is covered or wrapped up with plastic bags. Also, the store clerks would put your purchased items into a plastic bag without asking.
It’s a common sense that plastic waste is not good for this earth. Our country finally has started to do something about our addiction to plastic. Convenience stores and grocery stores started to charge a few yen for getting plastic bags. I think it’s helping a little bit.
Blue Lug staffs are always trying to find the way to be better for the environment. We always carry are bags when going to the conbini to get lunch, but we sometimes forget to bring our bags.
Max, the bag designer had the same problem and he thought he wouldn’t forget them if we hang them on our bikes…
Let’s face it, we don’t go anywhere without our bikes right?
“I wanted this bag to be light as possible and unnoticeable when hanging them onto something.” Max says.
Ah, the good ol’ key chain. That’s also a great idea!
When unpacked, the bag is about the size of a medium size plastic bag you would get at a Walmart or Target.
These tote bags become small as an egg when they’re packed.
They are made of silicone coated ripstop nylon fabric. (The same material as the Packable Sacoche from Fairweather)
We made all of the tote bags with the wasted material that has accumulated when producing the Packable Sacoche, so they are super eco-friendly!
They’re cheap, easy to carry, all around a great little bag to have.
Hope ya’ll dig them too
