Choice Overload! New Color Motion Pants
Thanks to all the positive feedback, the Motion Pants are restocked for the 3rd time. More than a hundred pairs flew out overseas, so I thank you for all the support from all over the world!
We’re near the end of August, but the hot and humid days still continue in Tokyo. With that being said, I’d like to introduce you to the new Autumn colors of the Motion Pants.

First up are the five existing colors: Charcoal, Navy, Olive, Black, and Sage.
(I apologize that some colors sold out so quickly 🙏)
With a selection of, easy-to-wear colors, this lineup should fit seamlessly into just about anyone’s wardrobe.

And now, we’re adding 7 new colors.

Blue green, brown, beige and burgundy are understated colors that fits both urban and natural environments.

We also made bright and fun colors for this batch. Purple and orange.

Last but not least, pale lavender that has a serene quality and feels quietly sophisticated.
12 colors in total. So many choices!
All the essential details are the same: Taslan nylon, a mesh-lined phone pocket, an internal belt with a side-release buckle, and an ultralight drawcord in the hem.
(All the details of these pants are listed in THIS BLOG by Wentz.)

And now, out of nowhere, let’s bring in a study conducted by Avni Shah, now an associate professor at the University of Toronto and George Wolford.
The study examined the relationship between the number of available options and the likelihood of making a purchase.
THE STUDY
Students were presented with a selection of pens and given the option to purchase one if they found one they liked. The number of pens available was increased in increments of two, from 2 to 20.
THE RESULTS
Purchases peaked when the students were given 10 pens to choose from. Beyond that point, the purchase rate steadily declined.
(This phenomenon is known as the paradox of choice, or choice overload.)

Welp, it looks like we made too many options…
However, I think having a lot of choices fits our shop, since we’re sometimes described as a “candy shop for adults”.
I believe that you guys like to have a ton options for our products. It’s fun to choose from all the variations, right?😳
The drop date follows. Please note that it is a little different from our usual schedule.

This is by no means limited to clothing, but I believe that products created for a clear reason and a specific purpose has a certain strength and integrity as objects.
The more a product tries to cover every possible need, the more likely it is to become vague.
It’s often these highly focused products that seems to be the most versatile, especially because they have been so thoroughly refined and function so well.
Workwear originally for use on job sites, shells jackets and bags built for activity in extreme conditions, shoes designed to deliver better performance.
Each of these items were created to fulfill a particular purpose, but we often see them used in everyday life and activities far different from what they were intended to be used.

The Motion Pants were born from a demand among our staffs, saying they want the pants version of the Bike Shorts.
Just like the shorts, I designed it to be perfect for bike riding from scratch and made many adjustments, until it became to its current form.
I would be lying if I said “I didn’t design these pants to be worn in town”, but it is true that I did not add anything specific for that purpose.
All I focused on is to make comfy pants for bike riding.

I’m not sure if it’s a “strong” product, but it definitely has a solid backbone.
We hope you’ll find it useful in all kinds of situations.
Anyway, thanks for sticking to the end.
