Restock & Online Special Stroll Sacoche

I thankfully had the opportunity do direct a lot of the designs for our soft goods.

And I am super stoked that those products are getting to customer’s hands from all over the world.
Whenever I see people using Blue Lug products, whether online, where a crap load of information flows, or at some random place in Japan I get so happy that a weird sound, almost like a choked-up sob, escapes from the back of my throat.

Not being a tech-savvy dude and being very bad at explaining my ideas with words, I imagine it is a nightmare for our product designers who actually does the work, since I always present my ideas with very low quality drawings and shitty images I make with an iPhone.
I’m thankfully surrounded by extremely talented coworkers that get’s things done super accurately, despite my presentation of the idea being a disaster.
I would like to thank all my coworkers and all the people who are stoked on the products I got to work on. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m truly lucky to have such cool people around!
Now, I had another opportunity to work on a design for the “Online Special Stroll Sacoche”.
I was walking around the office and heard the product designers discussing about the next batch of the Stroll Sacoches, so I barged in and said “Please let me design a couple of them! Please please please!” They were about to finish the meeting, but I had them squeeze in my design at the last minute.
Sorry Suzuki-san!

Mesh pocket…?

Yes, but nope!
I intended to make them a mesh pocket, but the whole backside of the bag became mesh material as well, due to the pockets of the bag and the back being made with one piece.

I first just wanted the pockets to be mesh material, but I was happy when I saw the actual product. I don’t like when people say it’s a unique design because that’s not the case most of the time, but I think this one is actually pretty unique…I think?

I chose orange and blue for the color and the grid pattern nylon material.
The orange has black mesh pockets/back and the blue has gray pockets/back.

The color and the mesh pocket detail was inspired by this old mont-bell jacket I found on the internet.
Not sure why, but I’m currently obsessed with mesh pocket items. I’ve been collecting a lot of images of vintage clothing with mesh pockets and this mont-bell jacket is my favorite of them all. No, I don’t have the actual jacket, if you were wondering.

I couldn’t decide whether I should put reflector tapes on the bag, but my coworker Max mentioned that bags that have reflectors sell better, so I said yes.
I’m the type of person who wants to give some twist on things, so I decided to put two short reflector tapes on each side of the pockets, instead of one long reflector tape, like our usual bags.

I like how it kinda looks like the head lights of the Honda Integra DA8.

These two color-ways are only available online. The physical stores do not have these on their shelves.

We also got 8 new colors and a full restock on the regular Stroll Sacocches, which can been seen here or in stores.

Here are my low quality images that I made to present the idea for this bag. I think I did a pretty good job on this one…
Okay, that’s it. I hope y’all like this one✌️
