Bike Puff Jacket, a team project with Wild Things are about to drop.

These jackets were designed based after Wild Thing’s classic “Happy Jacket”. We’ve added some cyclist friendly details for this project.

We’re very hyped about the jackets and I wanted more people to know about the brand, so here’s a little fun fact post about Wild Things and the Happy Jacket☺︎

■ What is WILD THINGS

Founded in 1981. An outdoor brand established by John Borchardt and Marie Munier, mountaineers from Massachusetts, USA. Known not only for developing outdoor apparel and gear, but also for providing military-grade technology. Their ECWCS (Extreme Cold Weather Clothing System), the layering system was officially adopted for the U.S. military.

Their brand concept is “LIGHT IS RIGHT” It relentlessly pursues the functional elements of lightness, mobility, and durability, continuously creating products that prove their true worth in the harshest environments.

What Is a “Happy Jacket”?

The original Happy Jacket is an early model of the ECWCS Level 7.
It combines the same warmth and lightweight properties as military gear designed for the harshest cold. Incidentally, Level 7 offers the highest cold protection within the ECWCS system, making it essentially the ultimate outerwear!

Why Happy?

The name “Happy” originates from the smile mark on the tag of the initial model. Soldiers affectionately called it the “HAPPY SUIT” due to its cute smiley face logo. (It was originally a two-piece set, hence the name “suit”) This nickname was passed down to WILD THINGS’ urban-use model, the “Happy Jacket.”

■About the BIKE PUFF JACKET

Personally speaking, the ideal outerwear for cycling is something lightweight, easy to move in, and warm, and this jacket fits the bill perfectly.
PrimaLoft excels at both insulation and breathability, so it keeps you warm without feeling stuffy.
The custom-made reflectors and large pockets offer safety and storage benefits, but they just look really cool.

Sizing

I am 162cm/5’3 and wear a size small. I like wearing it loose and pulling the draw string tight.

Cool thing about the jacket is that the draw strings are stowed inside the pocket.

Stay warm and happy wearing the Bike Puff Jacket!
