I had an opportunity to design a handlebar for the first time with Nitto. I was waiting for these bars for a year, so I’m very happy to introduce it to y’all!

B805 “SYNC bar”.

This is not a completely new model. It was based on a discontinued Nitto bar from the 90s.

The black one didn’t exist at the time. The width on the original bars were 580mm, but I updated the new ones to 700mm and added the speedy looking Nitto logo on the left side of the bars.

I saw the original bars on an old MTB that came in for a bar swap in 2024. I took the original handlebar off from the bike and looked at it for a while and thought, this looks really nice. Come to find out, there was a Nitto logo on the handlebar!

I hit up Nitto quickly and asked them if we could do a wider version of it.

It’s a really nice bar, but had been completely forgotten. There are no information about them on the internet. It’s quite obvious since it was a product made before internet, but still…

Anyhow, I just thought we need to bring them back.

The sample arrived last fall, so I used it on a Romanceur build.

A small rise and a 18° back sweep. I like looking at the handlebar from the sides.

Looking good on this Crust Bikes Derecho. I love how the handlebar looks with an aggressive angle.

They look good on Surlys and track bikes like the Mash Steel .

There are few options for wider bars with a 25.4mm clamp diameter and I’d doubt there will be more in the future, so I’m really happy that I was able to add one new option.

I of course got the black one and installed it on my Crust Bikes Stupid Tourist. I’ve been riding it daily to commute and went to the Swift Campout Trip. The 18 degree sweep makes it easier to ride a long distance, while keeping the direct feeling, which is crucial to me.

Here are the schedules for the products.

Blue Lug In store release : July 26th (Sat) 12:00pm –

P.S.
I personally like the ODI Longneck Grip and the Nitto FW-25 Large Bar End combo!
