I’m so glad these bars made it in time for my new bike build.

Stoked to let y’all know that the Jam-Bars are back.

The Clem I sneak peaked in this video is all built up. Man, it’s almost the end of 2025, but I’m still buying new bikes…

Oh well.

I always thought that if I were to get a Riv for myself, I would put the Jam-Bar and my time has come.

I’ve been sourcing the parts ever since I got the Clem frame that had a small scratch.

The concept of this build was “A bike that needs care”, so I sourced older parts on purpose…this is gonna be a long story, so I won’t get into further details.

I have always had these bars installed in a pretty aggressive angle.

These bars were designed based off from beach cruiser bars. They are weird bars that have all the essence I need to complete a fun bike build for me.

I talked about a relaxed bar angle for the Jam-Bar in this video, but I never had the chance to try that angle, so I was always curious.

I thankfully had some customers who I built Rivs who chose the bars for their bikes. I wanted to feel what it was like to have a Jam-Bar on a Riv.

Aesthetic wise, I think the curvy bar is a great match with the curvy frame.

User experience is key for bike parts, so I hit the Tokyo streets with the fresh bike,

and rode out to the nature the day after.

Now, I ride it everyday to work.

Yup, it’s a “normal” handlebar. It feels good on my hands, feels safe when putting wait and handles well.

These felt more crazy and aggressive when I had them on my MTB, but feels oddly normal on this bike. I guess bar angle really does matter.

(The Jam bar is ideal for four bolt stems. Do not attempt to use the bar with one bolt stems.)

Feels weird tapping my own shoulder, but I think these are great bars that people can enjoy two different ride qualities.

The Jam-Bars will be available online from October 22nd, (Wed) 7:00pm JST

That said, I still can’t find the perfect angle for these bars on my Clem.

100mm feels slightly too long, despite the bar having a pretty big sweep…I should maybe try 70mm. That way I can have a fore grip like Tani’s Rivs.

The Clem made me feel like I just got into bikes again. It’s super fun.

I know I’ll learn more new things about this bike and I definitely have to write about the day I rode with the Riv crew in SF, but for now…

I have something I’ve waited for two years coming soon.

Bikes are fun.
