Schmidt Dynamo Hub

Today, I would like to talk about a dynamo hub. This bike is Rivendell Samihillborne that I built before. This is the customer’s second bike for daily use like neighborhood shopping.

The front hub was Philwood. Those are great. It is very tough and lasts very long, but for his daily use bike, he needed a light on it.

He used to use a Usb charged LED light, but of course it needed to be charged often.

Therefore, a hub dynamo / light can solve the problem. The hub has a small electric generator built in and it is used to power lights. No charging needed. Genius.

Schmidt creates the best hub dynamo in Germany. It is a beautiful aluminum body and as tough as Philwood hubs even though it has an electric generator inside.
