I remember reading something like that in one of Thomson’s interview from the past
We are very excited to announce an official collaboration with Thomson for our 20th Anniversary year! I believe this is the very first collaboration they’ve done with one bike shop…correct me if I’m wrong please!
A true hall-of-fame lineup of bicycle components, the X4 Stem, Elite Seatpost (including the Setback version!), and Seat Clamp have all received a special-color Cerakote makeover.
With a concrete-like gray finish, we’re calling this color “TRAFFIC GREY.”
The final result turned out even better than we imagined.
The faceplates on the stem and seatpost feature special leather edging commemorating BLUE LUG’s 20th anniversary. The typewriter-like font gives them a nostalgic touch.
The Blue Lug crew wasted no time installing them on their own bikes.
Gray that can work in place of either silver or black.
It blends in effortlessly, and each of them has found a unique way to put it to use. I imagine many of you reading this blog are already Thomson users, too.
Why not pair these with your existing Thomson stems or seatposts and have some fun with a two-tone setup? There’s plenty of room to get creative and make the color your own.
The collaboration parts will be available in stores from August 22nd (Sat) 2026
and will be live online from August 24th (Mon) 7:00p.m. JST
