テーマは面倒くさくない！いっぱい積める！
前回のキャンプライドがバイクパッキングスタイルだったのですが、完璧なまでに容量不足だったので重量は犠牲にしつつもパニアバッグ導入をしました。今回は輪行もあったので、簡単にバッグが脱着できるのもポイントでした。
分散してパッキングしなければならないパッキングスタイルって『どこに何入れたんだっけ?』現象が頻発したので、ステムバッグ、シートバッグは今回は持って行かずに、デカイ３個のバッグ作戦。フロント荷重スタイルは絶対死守。登りの感覚が全く違います。 My theme for packing was "No fuss!" and "Tons of space to pack!" The last time I went bike camping, I didn't have enough capacity for packing, so this year, I sacrificed the lightness and went with pannier bags. I needed to unload the load when traveling with the ferry so the pannier bags helped to unload quickly. I always forget which things I put in which bags when having multiple bags so I didn't bring a stem bag nor a seat bag this time. Big three bag tactic. Packing on the front was a must. Climbing hills are way easier that way.

荷物は全てバッグの中に収めることで美しいパッキングを目指す
料理はお湯を沸かすだけで済むものにしてクッカー、バーナーは最小限に。予報では気温が高めなのでシュラフは持たずに大判の速乾タオルでシュラフとタオルを兼用
今回のキャンプで一番迷ったのはマット。今まで使っていた物よりも寝心地を良くしたくてクローズドセル(折り畳みマット)にして、ヘリノックスの折りたたみ椅子の代用もして、寝心地向上と軽量化を考えたけど、パッキングの美しさを優先して結局エアマットに決めました。下り坂での風での煽りも受けにくくなるし。昔よりもエアマットがすんごい小さくなってるのを知ってたのでmont-bellのAIR180に新調。 I made sure everything was packed in the bag to look neat as possible. No fancy cooking tools this time. I ate things that only require boiling. I new it was gonna be hot so I didn't bring a schlafsack. In stead I used a huge towel as a blanket. It was hard to choose which mattress I was gonna bring. I always brought a closed sell type because of their comfiness, but this time I wanted to have a pretty packing style so I went for the Mont-Bell Air180 air mattress.

- パニアにはテント、寝袋、マット、折りたたみチェア、着替えなど。すぐ取り出せるアウトポケットには輪行袋と工具類、虫除け、かゆみ止め、日焼け止めなんかを。サドルバッグにはカメラとバッテリー類、レインジャケット、クッカー類を詰めてスタート。カーゴネットで留めたトートバッグは食材などのエクストラスペースとして。 I packed my tent, sleeping bag, mattress, chair and clothes in the main compartment of the pannier bags. Bike carry bag, tools, insect repellents and sunscreen was in the pocket of them. Camera batteries, rain jacket and cooking pot in the saddle bag. The basket bag that's fastened with the cargo net was for an extra space for putting food and etc.

- 「登り」を意識した前重心のパッキング。水などの重たいモノは自転車の中心のフレームバッグの中に。左右のパニアバッグの重さもなるべく均等にする事も意識して。サドル下に付けたSWIFT INDUSTRIESカタリストパックがサドルの下に潜り込んでしまう問題はボレーのラックストラップをひと工夫。本当はバッグサポーターを使えばいいのですが「それ以外に簡単にできないか？」考えてこの仕様に落ち着きました。意外と「あり」だと思うのですがどうでしょうか？ I packed on the front for making things easier when climbing. The water bladder was stored in the frame bag in the center of the bike. I tried to pack the same amount of stuff for both pannier. The bag under the saddle is a Swift Industries Catalyst Bag. I did this "thing" with Voile straps to stop the bag from going completely under the saddle. Having a bag support would be ideal, but I wanted to find something easier to install. I personally thought this was a good idea. What do you guys think?

- はじめてのキャンプライドだったので、とにかく大容量で積めるだけ積み込むスタイル。パニアバッグにはあまり取り出さないもの(寝袋やマット、着替えなど)を入れて、よく取り出すものをステムバッグやフレームバッグやcatalystに入れました。This was my first bike camping trip. I packed whatever I could. I threw stuff I won't be needing during ride, like my sleeping gear and change of clothes in the pannier bags and packed stuff I need quick access in my stem bag, frame bag and the Catalyst.

- ビビットなオレンジカラーに少しばかり汚れの付いたパニアバッグ。誰もがいう言葉かもしれないけれどやっぱり自分の好きなアイテムを使うのが1番の高揚感を味わえる事が出来ますし、走っている時ふと目に入ってくるけれどその時も最高に良いなと思って見ていました。そして収納に関してはある程度パニアで解決できるのも◎なポイントかと思います。パニアとは別にシートバックも付けていった今回のツーリング。ぼくがシートバックを使う理由はいくつかあるのだけれども一つ目はビジュアル。フロントだけが盛り上がっていてリアが寂しいのはちょっと嫌だなと思い付けて行った。フロントのパニアとのバランス感が好きです。そしてお気に入りのコップを吊り下げて走るのもシートバッグを使うひとつのポイント。この実用さと見た目さが合わさってやはり使っていて良かったなと思えます。Ah, the vivid orange pannier bag with a slight of dirt on it. Everybody probably says the same thing, but using something you love is the best way to feel good. I couldn't help looking at my pannier bags when riding. On top of that, pannier bags can store almost everything I need and that's another great part. Other than the pannier bags, I brought a seat bag for this tour. There are many reasons I had a seat bag but the main reason is the appearance. There was too much going on in the front and the rear side of my bike looked dull. I like the way it looks with the pannier bags and it's super useful. I have to point out my favorite cup on the seat bag as well.

- もっとも重要なのはたくさんの撮影機材をどう運ぶかと内容物の把握。名付けて『分別パッキング』作戦で挑みました。自転車にバッグをたくさん付けて、荷物を無秩序にどんどん詰めていくとアッという間にどこに何を入れたか分からなくなる。そこで、各バッグごとに同一カテゴリの荷物しか入れないようルール化。こうしておくと、必要なモノが把握できるのは勿論、行きも帰りも同じく収納できるので「行きは入ったけど帰りは入らない」なんてこともなくなります。The most important things were to understand what I have in which bag and how to carry my camera equipment. When putting a lot of bags on a bike and throwing everything randomly, you immediately forget what and where you stored them. I categorized each bike bags for certain things I wanted to carry. This also get's rid of the "I can't pack how it was before problem" when going back home. I call this the separation method.

- 今回のバイクはLa Cabra。DISCブレーキでアクティブな乗り味のバイクなので、その長所を潰さないように自分なりに「ライドのパートも楽しく」「少しは軽く」を意識して準備をしました。
日常で「自転車に積める荷物の量」の想像を遥かに超えたものが運べるので、まず手に入れるべきはパニアバッグだと思う。こういうライドの入り口になるし、言うならばパニアはどこでもドアだ！
一番嵩張るキャンプ用品はパニアにまとめて、キャンプ地にドサっとパニアさえドロップできればそのままライドに行けるようにパッキング。
で、重要と感じたのは「手元のバッグ」。ライド中貴重品や携帯、直ぐに出し入れしたいものは視界のなかに入れておく。僕は今回*OUTER SHELL* drawcord handlebar bagにしました。ものの出し入れで言えば最強はステムバッグだと思うけど、ドロップバーバイクだときつい登板の最中にヒザが擦れるのがストレスなので、これにして正解。メインのバッグ達とは別で、手軽な手元のバッグはマスト。I brought out my La Cabra for this trip. It's an active bike with disc brakes, so I tried not kill that advantage. I wanted to enjoy riding so I was careful about the total weight of the bike. You guys need to get pannier bags, because I was shocked by how much you can pack! Panniers can open up a new door of enjoying bikes! I put everything bulky in the pannier bags. This way I can quickly drop everything and go explore the near by scenery. It's nice to have a small bag for the cockpit, to store your phone, wallets and anything else you want to keep close. I chose the Drawcord Handlebar Bag from Outershell. Stem bags are the best of these kind of bags in my opinion, but they rub on your knees when riding with drop bars and the Drawcord Handlebar Bag did a pretty good job for me.

- ２パニアのうちの片方はバックパックになるパニアなので、フェリーの輪行時にはなるたけ重い荷物をバックパックに詰めました。重い荷物で両手が塞がるので、輪行時はとても楽でした。雨が降っても大丈夫なように着替えや寝袋は全て小分けにしてドライサックにいれてバッグに収納しました。ライド時は貴重品やすぐ使う荷物はパッカブルサコッシュに入れて、ランドナーバッグに入れました。ハンドルから取り出しやすいので、ちょっと自転車から降りたい休憩時にはとても便利。One out of the two pannier bag was a pannier bag that can be converted into a back pack so I packed everything heavy in that bag when carrying in the bike when boarding the ferry. This made everything easy. In case of rain, I put my sleeping bag and clothes in the FW Dry Sack. I put the valuables in the FW Packable Sacoche and put that in the Rando bag.

- フロントパニアのみのシンプルな構成。
フェリーに載せる際に輪行袋に仕舞わなければならなかったので、仕舞う際にコンパクトに出来るTUBUSのTARAを使用。フォーク中腹のネジはつけっぱなしでフォーク爪先のネジだけ外してあげるとかなりコンパクトに折り畳んだ状態で袋に仕舞えます。完全にラックを外しても良いんだけれど自転車にくっついている方が輪行袋の中でフレームにゴンとぶつけ辛いかなと。
荷物の振り分け方は多少気にしていて、車体を倒して地面に置いたり、壁によっかけて駐輪する時は基本左側(右は少しデリケートなギア系のパーツが付いているから)。その時にパニアがブニュっと少し押される形になるので衣類やテント、寝袋系などの布ものは左側、それ以外のクッカーやコップ等のひん曲がったら困る金属系のものは右に入れるように意識しています。以前それでクッカーを歪めて使い物にならなくさせてしまったのがトラウマです。Just the front pannier bags. Simple. I had to put everything in the bike carry bag when boarding the ferry, so I chose the Tara rack from Tubus, since they can be stored small, by leaving the bolts on the middle of the fork and taking off the bolts for the fork. I could have taken off the rack completely, but that'll make the rack rattle around the bike carry bag and mess up the frame, so I went with this method. I focused on loading my sleeping bag, clothes and tent on the pannier bag on the left, since that is the side I often lean or lay my bike on a wall or the ground. (since the drive side is filled with sensitive parts) Cups, cooking utensils and other things I didn't want to get bent were packed in the right side pannier bag. I once messed up my cooker by packing them in the left side. Not fun.

- 自分らしくそしてカッコ良くが最大のポイント。
MASH STEELという車体がそもそもどう考えてもキャンプツーリングに向いていないので、なるべく安心安全を考えました。具体的にはクイックなハンドリングを抑え込むために、どちらかというとフロントに荷重がかかるように納めて、エニシングケージをなるべく低く付けて重心を下げた。かと言ってあまりフロントヘビーすぎるとブレーキ問題が出てくるのでリアにも少し重めの荷物を配分した。First of all, looking good is my top priority. The MASH Steel is definitely not for camping, so I focused on packing safely. By putting more weight on the front, I tried to create a slower handling rather than the quick and sharp handling when unpacked. I installed the Anything cage as far as I can install towards the end of the fork to have lower center gravity. That being said, having too much weight on the front can cause trouble with the brakes, so I put a tiny bit of stuff in the back to balance things out.

- 必要最低限の中で最大限に楽しめるパッキングを意識しました。
それと1つのギアに2つの役割を持たせたる事で荷物を減らしたりを考えました。ただ、ストイックになり過ぎず現地では快適に過ごせればと考えました。
あとはお気に入りの137トートにテント、エアマット、ダウンブランケット、メスティン＆ガスストーブ、着替え、ポンチョ、輪行袋を収納してワンバッグスタイルを目指しました。
スイフトのステムバッグも当日の携帯や財布など出し入れ多い物を収納しました。バスケットにつけれるのでめちゃくちゃ調子いいですね。今回は夏ならではの荷物の量なので秋冬はパニア2つで収まるかな？といった感じです。I only brought the bare minimum stuff to fully enjoy the trip. One trick I used is that using some of the stuff for two purposes. That way I was able to bring less stuff. I tried to bring stuff that I can have a comfy trip as well. I put my tent, air mattress, blanket, stove, change of clothes, rain poncho and bike carry bag in my lovely 137 Tote. One bag style. To top things off, I had the Side Kick Pouch on my basket to store everything I need to take out constantly. The great thing about summer is this kind of minimum packing. If this was autumn, I would've had two pannier bags.

- フレームサイズが大きいのでフルフレームバックとパニア一つで殆ど必要な物はパッキング出来ましたが、パニアバックが一つ余ったのでトウモロコシを13本(恐らく5キロ程)パッキング。サドルバックには制汗剤や汗拭きシートなどあったら嬉しい物をパッキングしました。I have ride a big bike so the full sized frame bag and one pannier was enough to pack everything I needed, so I decided to pack corns for each of my team mates on the other pannier. (which was about 5 kilos) The saddlebag was packed with deodorant and other things that becomes handy in this time of the year.

梅雨の晴れ間の貴重なチャンスを無事にゲットした、幸運な13人のSWIFT CAMPOUTがスタートしました。
目指すは東京の離島”伊豆大島”。
It was a miracle. Sunshine in the rain season of Japan. 13 cyclists started their Swift Campout happily.
Our destination is Izu Oshima Island.
実は僕自身初めてのSWIFT CAMPOUTだったんですけど、準備から始まってる感じありました。
トミーとも始まる数日前はずっとパッキングのこととかそんな感じの話ばかり。
遠足のような冒険の前のような高揚感。キャンプアウトの醍醐味だと思います。
This was actually my first time going to a Swift Campout. I had so much fun from the process of getting ready for the trip. I would chat a lot about bikepacking to Tommy before the trip. This excitement reminded me of going on a field trip as a kid. Swift Campout gives you joy that you hadn't felt in years.
竹芝港から東京タワーをかすめて、夜行船を使ってエスケープします。
ジェット船に乗ってしまえば2時間ほどの移動ですが、わざわざ夜行船を選んで遊覧しながらマッタリとがオススメです。
We board the ferry from Takeshiba Terminal at night. It's time to escape Tokyo. We waved our hands goodbye to Tokyo tower.
The Water Jet would take us to the destination in two hours, but we chose the night cruise so we're going to travel slow and take in the scenery.
雑魚寝スタイルのフェリーの中は、正直快適とは言えないけど、人間臭いそれぞれの営み(ただの飲み会)を横目に、何かが始まりそうな甲板のブラックライトと潮風に包まれて8時間の移動。
翌朝の本番に備えて、ちょっと乾杯しておやすみなさい。
We had to sleep in a huddle. It's not the most comfortable way to travel 8 hours but, it's all good.
Enjoy watching the crowd of people having blast on the deck surrounded by the sea breeze. Gotta get up early tomorrow, I sipped a couple of cans of beer and said goodnight.

フェリーでは自転車をバラさずに預けたのですが、バッグは全て外す必要があったのでZeitgeistに付けたショルダーストラップに救われました。これがなかったら4つのバッグは持てなかったですね。
I had my bike carried without taking anything apart, but I had to take all the loads off from the bike. I'm really glad I brought the shoulder strap for the Zeitgeist bag. Otherwise, I couldn't have carried all four bags to the ship.

島に着いてみると、目線を逸らせば圧倒的な海岸線、山頂付近を見上げると何やら怪しげなフォギーな島の頂が待ち構えます。
なんだこの違和感、僕の育った東京都ではない…笑
We have arrived. I was fascinated by the coastline. As I look towards the mountains, I realized the mysterious fog. This is definitely not the Tokyo I know.
ちなみにフェリーには数台であれば自転車を輪行バッグなしで組み立てた状態のまま直接預かってくれるサービスもあるのがありがたいポインツ。
FYI, for a certain amount of bikes, they offer an option to board the bike without a bike carry bag, which is another great thing about this trip.
今回のメンバーはザッと見返してもパニア率が高かったのが印象的。輪行というシチュエーションもあったので、バイクパッキングよりも荷物の脱着が楽で、僕はとても印象よかったです。
Everybody seems to have brought out pannier bags for this trip. Panniers are great for situations which you need to carry your bike at one point. You can unload your bag quicker than bikepacking style. I love pannier bags.

出発早々にHUBのニゴ君に異変が…シングルスピードはしんどいね…大丈夫かい？
A few minutes into the ride, I noticed something wrong with Nigo. Riding on a single speed is tough isn't it? You alright?
荷物も重たそうだったので、何が入ってるのと確認したら、おもむろに13本のトウモロコシを出してきた。みんなで荷物(トウモロコシ)シェアしました。ちなみにオーバーオールだとノーパンらしいニゴ君。
Looked like he had a lot of load on his bike. I asked him what he brought and he began to take out corns from his bag. We each took a corn from him and carried by ourselves. FYI, Nigo wears no undies when wearing an overall...just gonna put that out there.
今回の旅の全行程は２１kmで島をほぼ一周回って、山頂にあたる、”裏砂漠”へヒルクライムするという内容です。
The whole trip is about 21km of riding. We rode almost the entire island and then climbed up the bug hill to "Ura Sabaku Desert".
いつものライドに比べると、そんなに距離はないけれど、隆起した独特の地形の関係で、アップダウンはなかなかのもの。
全部が楽しかったという参加者はまずいないと思うけど、苦しい中にも喜びが感じられるポジティブな人生に幸あれ。
It was not a long ride, we usually ride a longer distance. But there were a lot of ups and downs. Pretty sure there's no one who thought everything in the trip was fun, but I'm sure we were able to find happiness in tough situations. I like to think positively.
スタッフの昔から使ってるSWIFTがかっこよかったです。今は買えないモデルとかもそれはそうなんだけど、使い込んできて出てくる風合いだったりとか、何気ないピンズとかにそのバッグへの愛着を感じます。みんなのSWIFTのバッグもそうあってください。
The classic Swift bags that some of the members were using looked really nice. The discontinued models, the way they are aged and the decoration each guys had, whether it was pin badges or patches were very pleasing to see. We'd love to see you guys's own Swift bags like that.
この日は風がとても強くて、前に進むので精一杯な一同をまず癒してくれたのが、愛らんどセンター 御神火温泉。夜行船の疲れをすっかりリセットしてくれました。
It was a very windy day. The crew had a hard time moving forward, but the "Airando Center Onsen" healed our stiff body. We were able to start moving forward once again.
リフレッシュした後は島を反時計回りにぐるっと半周、この日のお宿を確保するために、一同トウシキキャンプ場へ。
After washing down our sweat at the onsen, we rode the island counter clock wise and headed to "Toshiki Campground", where we will be spending the night.

食材を買い出ししたらちょっと動かすのも一苦労なくらいの重さになったのですが、走り出すと意外なほど安定感があるのにも驚きました。バイク自体のジオメトリとやはりフロントパニアなのが効いている感じ。
After packing the groceries for the night, the bike was very heavy and hard to move. However, I was surprised how stable of a ride it was once I started to pedal. I think the geometry of the bike and the front panniers helped.

トウシキキャンプ場へ到着。
それぞれテントの設営と、この日のメインイベントでもある裏砂漠へのアプローチを開始する予定でした。流石にバッグ全部付けて激坂登りはしんどい！と英断をして最低限の軽装で挑むことに。トレーニングではないから絶対無理しちゃダメよ。楽しめる範囲で。
朝早くからまあまあハードなスケジュールだったので、それぞれ補給を済ませた13人の戦士たち。いよいよ本日のメインディッシュの裏砂漠へ。
We have arrived at Toshiki Camp Ground.
Our plan was to set up our camp and get ready to ride the Ura Sabaku Desert. Climbing a massive hill with all the loads were simply not happening, so we have decided to just bring the bare minimum for this ride. We came here for fun. Not to work out.
The crew had riding from early in the morning, so we had a few snacks. It's time to make a move!

Highly recommend bringing spare M5 bolts and a few zip ties. Expect the unexpected.

もっとも神経を使うカメラ機材は、常に目と手が届くフロントにREALM 137 basket bagを装着して収納。底面側面にウレタンが入ってるので機材へのショックが軽減できるのと箱状になってるので整理し易く中身が見渡せ即座に必要機材を取り出せるのがポイントです。
I put all camera equipment on the Realm 137 basket bag, so that I can always keep an eye on them. The Realm bags have urethane pads on the bottom and has a nice boxy shape, making it easier to organize the contents inside.
途中のいい感じの道をキャッチしながらアプローチ。ここまでの登りがまあ～きつい事…鹿児島から東京まで自走引っ越しをやってのけたニューカマーのカイセイも、ここまでの登りは経験した事ないとか。裏砂漠までは相当に厳しい道のりで、車推奨と思います。ただ、きつい！と聞くとついつい登りたくなっちゃうのがサイクリストの性というのも痛く理解出来るので、自分の足で到達したい方は、どうか軽装でアプローチを。
We took some detours whenever we found interesting roads. Boy oh boy, the hills were brutal. Kaisei, who traveled all the way from Kagoshima to Tokyo by bike, even said that he'd never experienced such a tough hill climb. I honestly recommend driving to the Ura Sabaku. But, as a cyclist, I totally understand the feeling of "wanting to give it a shot" whenever you hear about a huge hill. If you like to torture yourself, go for it. Make sure you bring less gear.

積載量やコースにもよりますがギア比はかなり低めにセッティングするべき。一番軽いギアで１.00を切るくらいにすると楽。荷物が重ければ重いほど、タイヤが太くなればなるほど低くするべき。普段街乗りで使っているバイクをそのまま乗っていく場合はギアの構成がそれでも不便ないか確認するべきだなと。トミーさんは化け物なのでギア比2.00で荷物乗せてシングルで乗っちゃってましたけど。。。
Depending on the amount of your load and the route you're riding, it's easier to have a gear ratio under 1.00 at the lowest. The more amount of load and the more you have fat tires, you should go lower. Tommy was able to keep riding on a 2.00 set up with a decent amount of load. He's a monster.
しかし、一体何キロのいやらしい登りを登っただろう。霧の切れ間から覗いたのは、一面真っ黒な裏砂漠までの入り口。
6月の梅雨時期は山頂付近はずーっとこんな感じで霧がかかってますとの現地情報をもらったので、夏至に開催されるSWIFT CAMPで訪れる際は、注意ですね。ただただ幻想的な空間で、一面の霧と真っ黒な砂漠でさながら異世界のよう。土遊びもイケます。登りきったご褒美にどうぞ。
Not very sure how long we climbed, but we finally were able to see the entrance of the Ura Sabaku Desert, the black sanded and only desert that exists in Japan. According to the locals, the desert is covered with thick fog during June, the rain season. You need to be careful if you want to visit during the time. I can say that it was quite a magical site to see though. The combination of the fog and the black sand of the Ura Sabaku was like planet out of earth. And of course you are allowed to ride through the dessert.

シングルスピードでもセッティング次第ではがんばれる！(どう考えてもギア付きがいいけど)ただし、トラックフレームだとパッキングに工夫が必要。車体によってはトゥクリアランスがタイトすぎるので、自分自身と自分のバイクの事を相当理解していないと難しい。この辛さと楽しさと達成感と幸福感はチャレンジした者にしかわからない！
You can have enough fun with a single speed! (not the best idea) But, I would say it was quite the challenge to pack my stuff. The toe clearance are too tight for certain bikes so, it's a very challenging thing to try unless you are fully aware of your own bike. This pain, joy and fulfillment is something you could never experience if you haven't tried single speed bikepacking!

ビーサンはやめた方がいいですね。地元感はめちゃくちゃ出せますが、遊びがある分疲労感はすごいです。vans履いてるのが羨ましかったです。
Don't wear flip flops. You can look like a local resident but it's really a pain in the ass to ride with. I wish I had brought vans shoes.
最初はみんな緊張とかもあったし、世代も結構違うごちゃ混ぜカオスメンバーだったので、ぎこちない部分もあったけれど、一緒に走って行く中で呼吸があってくる感じ。自転車に乗っててみんなとの距離が近くなってくのがとても心地よい。今日はちょっぴり仕事の事考えすぎないで、楽しむ事に没頭しようと。
Some people were nervous since it was their first big trip and the team consisted of 13 people with different ages, so some of the convos were sometimes awkward. However, as we keep pedaling, we start to understand each other. This is one of the beautiful things about riding bicycles. It brings people closer. I decided not think about work today. Focus on the fun times.

キャンプサイトに戻った頃にはすっかり夕方だったので、買い込んだ食材を調理してそれぞれで振る舞ったり、ぼーっと焚き火を眺めたりそれぞれ気持ちいい過ごし方を。この日はトミーの焼きそばがヒーローでした。明日も早いので、おやすみなさい。
By the time we got back to our camp, it was already the evening. We started to cook for each other and just stared at the campfire. Everybody was enjoying the night in their own way. Tommy's fried noodles were fantastic by the way. Anyways, it was getting late. We still have one more big day of riding tomorrow. Good night.

キャンプの朝は早い。
日の出前に起床して、コーヒータイムをとることに。キャンプサイトから少し足を伸ばしたところに海岸があったので、朝コーヒーの場所に決めました。みんな寝ぼけてコーヒー豆忘れるし、フィルター無いしでてんやわんや。そんな時もみんなに甘えられるので、仲間と行けるありがたみ感じます。
Gotta get up early on campouts.
I woke up before the sunrise to enjoy some good ol' coffee time. A few of the guys and I headed down to the beach for the coffee time. Everyone was still not fully awake. Some guys forgot to bring their beans while others forgot their filters. Luckily, we have friends to help each other out today.
日が昇りきった頃にはみんな起きてたので、朝食タイム。
1泊の予定だったので、荷物をまとめて近くで遊べる所探しながら帰路につきます。
帰りたくなーい＼(^o^)／
19時頃には芝浦に戻るようなスケジュールだったので、14時には輪行の準備を済ませておかなければならず後ろ髪ひかれながらではありますが、帰り支度。お昼過ぎには港に到着して、一同芝浦港へ。
By the time the sun reached the top, everyone was awake. Let's get ready for breakfast.
We are only planning on spending one night, so we needed to pack up and start heading back.

We needed to be at Shibaura by 7:30. Our goal was to finish getting ready to board the ship by 2:00 p.m. All of us got to the dock by noon. It is now time to head home.

一番のハイライトはLa Cabraがマジで調子良かったこと。いままでローテクなバイクでしかキャンプツーリングしたことなかったからだと思うけど、バイクの剛性感、荷物にフラフラ持ってかれない乗り味を体感することができた。ガッチリビタっと頼もしかった。
I was really shocked by how well the La Cabra rides. It's probably because I had only went on trips with low-tech bikes, but I was very impressed by the stiffness of the bike. I felt very stable with all the loads. I felt very safe.
後は東京に戻って、それぞれの家に帰るだけ。
フェリーの移動の間は、それぞれ爆睡だったり、興奮冷め止まぬメンバーはこの２日間の思い出を共有しながら、クールダウンします。たった1泊の、身近な島で過ごした、みんなにちょっぴり自慢したくなっちゃう僕たちのキャンプアウトが終わります。
伊豆大島また会おう。
All we have left to do is to head back to our homes.
The guys were either crashed or still talking, filled with excitement about how amazing the trip was, on the ferry. It was only a one night trip to a near by island, but it was surely a trip that we can brag about.

昔のswiftのパニアがくそ重くて。裏地がごついターポリンで。
I want the Jr. Ranger so bad now. The old Swift bags are really heavy due to the tarpaulin inners.

ただjr.rangerってそんなに大きくなくって、昔のパニアよりもちっちゃいの作ったのは、やっぱり中に入れるものも各種時代に合わせてちっちゃくなってきたから、パニア自体もちっちゃくなってると思うんだよね。だからそれなりにちっちゃくなるものを選ばないと結構入んない。
I feel like the Jr. Ranger is not that big of a bag. I think they made a smaller bag because, camping gear is getting smaller and smaller these days. We have to choose smaller gear. Otherwise I won't be able to fit everything in.

The old Swift bags were capable of throwing things in and sliding things in during the trip. I love that about the old Swift bags.

I mean, the bag isn't so light when it's packed anyways. I'd rather choose swag over weight.

あと結構性格別れると思うけど、僕たぶん根本的にガサツだなと思ったんすよ。そういうやつはでかいバッグ持ってったら最強だって思いましたね。
なんか荷物重ねてって、どこに何入れたかわかんなくなっちゃって。あれどこに入れたっけなーってガサガサガサってやって全部出してみたいな。結構あるあるだったんすよ。
で、パニア使うと、そもそも入るから、もう見えるし。バカでもわかるっていう。ここにあれが入ってるってわかる。
fabioとかもガバって口が開くから荷物が把握できて、性格的に俺ちょっとガサツくせえなとかバッグの中身ちょっときたねえくせえなって思ってる人はその疑いあるから、デカバッグ推奨かなとは僕は思いましたね。
I also think that for crude people like me, a big bag is nice to have. I often have situations when I pack everything on top and end up unpacking when searching for certain things.
For panniers, I can pretty much see everything you have packed. I can instantly understand what's inside.
If you had experienced something like me, I highly recommend getting a bag with a huge opening.

I'd prefer having one big bag like the FAB's chest rather than 3 small bags.

最高でしたね。普通に(fabioの中に)日常使うトートバッグ入れてました僕。そんな感じでラフに行きたい人はでかいバッグ推奨。重いのはもうしょうがない。
Yeah, I always carry my tote bag in the FAB's chest. Like I said, if you are like me, a big bag is highly recommended. The weight is something you gotta get over with.
