Tommyfrom BLUE LUG Yoyogi-Park

He's the best track bike freak in BLUE LUG. He found his own brand “UNVER” and released a frame named “RAPID” in 2023.

Wentzfrom Online Store

After competiting in road and MTB racing, he bumped into a track bike and joined BLUE LUG around the same time. Well-versed in bikepacking, he had a year-long South America cycling touring in 2024.

Issuefrom BLUE LUG Kamiuma

He had a long touring across Japan on SURLY Disk Trucker before he joined BLUE LUG. He’s one of the best bike freaks in BLUE LUG.

Duncanfrom BLUE LUG Hatagaya

The fastest guy in BLUE LUG. He used to be a messenger and experienced a lot of races such as cyclocross, MTB and fixed gear criterium.

*PHILWOOD×H PLUS SON* archetype track wheel (high flange/black)

This semi-aero rim looks cool not only on a bike with thin steel tubbings, but also on aluminum or carbon bikes. I recommend this rim since it’s kind of reasonable yet durable and strong. Laced with PHILWOOD large flange hub and it’s great for those who rides hard.

*VELOCITY* a23 track wheel (steel gray)

VELOCITY A23 is lightweight and simple. It's also great that it’s made in USA and you can choose all black, polish and silver (This steel gray is BLUE LUG exclusive!).
Compatible with tubeless tires and great for fast-speed riders. Laced with BLUE LUG exclusive small flange hub made by GRAN COMPE. It fits on any kind of bikes and works nicely yet reasonable.

*VELOCITY×PHILWOOD* a23 pro track wheel (polish)

I love low spoke wheels. I’ve been worried about the strength of low spoke count, but it’s not actually. You don’t have to worry about it if it’s our handbuilt wheel. We chose an aluminum rim for this wheel and it’s well-balanced in the weight and strength. There’re some carbon rims for this spoke count, so it might be a better option as well. PHILWOOD Pro hub is lightweight and extremely smooth, so have a try!

These are my favorite gravel wheel sets on our online store.
I chose them for the current standard 100x12mm, 142x12mm thru-axle.

*ASTRAL CYCLING×WHITE INDUSTRIES* outback alloy wheel set (black/32H)

First of all, I chose ASTRAL. I just love this rims.Personally, I’m running two pairs of 700C and 650B. Lightweight, highly strong and I like how it looks. This wheel set with WHITE INDUSTRIES cld hubs is the best option for upgrading your bike. ASTRAL is actually a sister company of WHITE INDUSTRIES, so they match really well.

*VELO ORANGE×VELOCITY* blunt ss disc wheel 650B (polish)

The wheel set which is great for wide tires from 45C (1.75") to 65C (2.5"). This Blunt SS rim is strong yet super lightweight. Awesome! It looks cool on CRUST and BLACK MOUNTAIN CYCLES rather than fast modern gravel bikes. The hubs are compatible with both QR and thru-axle and you can convert it with replacable end caps.

*VELOCITY* aero thru-axle disc wheel 650b (silver)

This is a 650B wheel set laced with VELOCITY’s new AREO rims. AERO rim is optimized for 28mm to 55mm tires and great for gravel bikes. It has the same name as the aerodynamics rim in their ealry times. I think this AERO rim is the new standard which has changed through the years of bicycle evolution. FYI, it’s silver, not polished. This matte silver may change the atomosphere of your bike dramatically.

Issue

When it comes to a word “touring”, there’re numbers of styles.

Recently, some people go touring with ultralight bike bags without racks, but I’d like to focus on the classic style like pannier bags.

For serious touring
VELOCITY Cliffhanger is the best if you’d like to pack up tons of stuff and go touring. This rim weighs more than others, but it has the extraordinary strength and durability, so it’s great for those who has a larger physique. It lasts through a long touring and it means that this wheel set will neveer break down in your daily life. The wheel sets for “daily life” and “touring” have some similar things in common.

For light touring (disc brake)
This wheel set is great for those who go touring on weekends sometimes, but doesn’t like it to be heavier. Laced with VELOCITY’s newest rim “Aero” and it’s highly balanced in weight, cost and durability. It weighs 20g more than similar “Aileron” rim, but it features 6069 alloy for the first time as VELOCITY rim and it’s really strong. Deep rim looks really cool on modern disc brake bikes and it works great as well.

*VELOCITY×ENE CICLO* atlas 650B wheel rear(silver)

For light touring (rim brake)
I’d like to recomend this wheel for those who loves classic rim brake bikes. Laced with VELOCITY Atlas rim and it’s super durable and tough as it looks. It works great with rim brakes and it fits nicely on any kind of bikes. Anyway, I do love the logo on this rim which features wings and the earth! Appearance is not the only thing we care about when choosing parts, yet I recognize it’s important as well when I see this rim.

*H PLUS SON* archetype road wheel (hard anodized)

This is the go-to road wheel set from our stock wheels. Laced with H PLUS SON Archetype and SHIMANO hub and it’s really reasonable. Especially, this hard anodized rim, silver hub and spokes are rare in the current market. It’s not compatible with tubeless ready tires, but you can hold down the cost. Great for your daily commute.

*ASTRAL CYCLING×DT SWISS* veil4 carbon wheel

This wheel set is laced with carbon rims which are rare from our wheel lineup. It’s not super lightweight, but it fits 23-32mm wider tires and works great for modern road bikes. We chose DT SWISS hubs, so it rorates smoothly and lasts for a long time. Great for those who’d like to use carbon wheels, but not for racing. FYI, you can choose rim brake model and different heights, so hit up our online store for them!

*PACENTI×VELO ORANGE* brevet road wheel

It looks classical, but it features sealed bearings and compatibility with tubeless tires and SHIMANO 11-speed cassettes. Replacing the end caps for both 130mm and 135mm rear spacing, you can run this wheel not only for road bikes, but also for touring bikes. Also, we have 650B option (36 holes!), so it’s great for various kinds of bikes.
