Yup, they appear everywhere.From column spacers to cable holders. Dia-Compe surely makes components that look very hard to make like it's no bodies business. They truly are an awesome friend for us bike mechanics.
The item is used on a Surly Steamroller. We've all used this piece of art especially for people who rode Keirin frames in the past. They are the unsung hero.
Props to you for pointing out a very important part, and congrats to you! Thank you so much for all of your participation!

たくさんの投稿の中。目が止まるのは見たことない古いダイアコンペのパーツを投稿している方や、現行品だけどそもそもバイク自体がイケてる方、でした。
しかし！この方のように「違う用途に使っちゃう系」好きです。PIT TIPSならぬLIFE TIPS。
特にこれはホッコリ系で癒されたので上馬賞とさせていただきます。ぶっちゃけドンズバ！な形状ではないけど、きっと自転車乗りが見つけたら思わずニヤリとしてしまう。そしてこの方の「これでいいや」っていう抜き感が素敵だと思いました。

The photos that catch my eyes from all these posts are the ones with ancient Dia-Compe parts that I didn't know they existed, or posts of sick bikes in general.
However! I love these "Improvising" type things. This is not a "Pit Tip" it's a "Life Tip". And for that I give you the Kamiuma Award. To be completely honest, that part is not the ideal shape for that door but it makes me and all the other cyclists smile. And I just love his effortless DIY, in a good way of course. Congrats!!

その”絶対使いたい”に選ばれるメイカーって最高の褒め言葉ですよね？って改めて思いました。DC980ってのもシブいです。ナイスチョイスです！
今回のMydiacompeの趣旨にもっとも素直でストレートに参加いただき、且つ最大の愛情表現にポッとしちゃいました。（Paulのカンチ見せてもらってグラっときてたみたいですけど、セーフ！）

There's always that one component that you dream of before even building the bike. I can totally relate to that.
The fact that someone dreams of using a bike part before the build is absolutely awesome and a huge compliment for the manufacturer. The DC980 brake is such a great choice!
Thank you so much for participating this #mydiacompe contest with a very pure and honest post. It truly made my day. (The other hashtag says that you almost cheated with the Paul canti brakes but we'll let that one slide!)

BMXライクなクルージングバイクをホリゾンタルフレームでやっちゃうこなれ感。若者のロンググリップ化が叫ばれる(?)昨今ですが120mm幅のベリーショートがライザーバーにはお似合いです。

You have hit us with the high rise bar x Oury Grip x SS-6 combo, that Blue Lug is currently setting as a recommended build.
I love how you have done a BMX like build on a horizontal top tube frame. The young generation is shifting towards long grips these days but the 120mm short grips look fantastic on a riser bar.
I also love how you used all domestic components for the stem and shifter lever.
