{"id":177740,"date":"2026-06-06T18:00:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-06T09:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bluelug.com\/blog\/?post_type=global&#038;p=177740"},"modified":"2026-06-05T17:35:03","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T08:35:03","slug":"i-love-track-bikes","status":"publish","type":"global","link":"https:\/\/bluelug.com\/blog\/global\/i-love-track-bikes\/","title":{"rendered":"I LOVE TRACK BIKES!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I love track bikes.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s been some huge news recently: a Japanese rider has won the \u201cMonster Track NYC\u201d race, a hardcore alleycat that\u2019s been held on the streets of NYC since 2000, for the first time ever.<\/p>\n<p>With fixed-gear bikes and no brakes being part of the regulations, this is a race that would be absolutely unthinkable here in Japan, where we live. I\u2019ve been following the news for a long time, but I never imagined such a surprise would happen in 2026&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Incidentally, around 2010, there were years when registration for Monster Track NYC was handled at AFFINITY CYCLES, which had a brick-and-mortar store at the time.<\/p>\n<p>A few years ago, R.E.LOAD Bags\u2014which closed its doors\u2014had a period when it produced Champion bags.<\/p>\n<p>If it weren\u2019t for Reload Bags, SWIFT INDUSTRIES probably wouldn\u2019t exist. It offers virtually no play when pedaling and produces no ratchet noise when pedaling stops, delivering a unique and superior riding experience that is highly regarded by racers and riders focused on performance.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s still a bit of a niche brand, but they have a lineup of track hubs, and their bold engineering and design, true to a racing components brand really speak to me. It\u2019s not gold just to be cool, it features a high-hardness titanium nitride coating that offers low friction and outstanding durability.
