Hi!<\/p>\n

I’m Patrick from BLUE LUG warehouse and currently learning to be a mechanic.<\/p>\n

My current goal is to be a “nature-loving city boy”.\"\"
\nI was named after the sneakers I always put on.<\/p>\n

It sounds like a city boy, doesn’t it?<\/p>\n

I really like my nickname.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Since I was born and raised in Tokyo, I’ve been feeling starved for the nature.<\/p>\n

When I was a child, I always tried to eat plants around me.<\/p>\n

If it doesn’t taste too bitter or feel like burning, you can eat it up (but, don’t try it!).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That kind of kids tend to like bugs, and I do love it too.<\/p>\n

I rode a bicycle to go around for bug hunting in the summer.<\/p>\n

In the childhood, bicycle and bugs are everything for me and I played outside all day.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Now as an adult, I’m feeling the same again.<\/p>\n

Today, I’m going to introduce my new bike.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The annual event called “OMM” made me get this bike.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mountains, rivers and bugs. Riding around in the great nature without digital devices.<\/p>\n

I immediately decide to participate in the event since I easily remember the memories.<\/p>\n

I just jumped off to go OMM.<\/p>\n

But, I faced the issue of “oh, what should I ride?”.<\/p>\n

I know gravel bikes or MTBs are the best of course, but I was a bit confused with too many BLUE LUG’s inventory.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Then, a certain notification popped up, and I noticed we were going to stock the CRUST’s first small wheel bike.<\/p>\n

And the name is STUPID TOURIST<\/a>.\"\"
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

My first CRUST. CRUST’s first small wheel bike.<\/p>\n

Some might think it’s weird, but it blowed off my mind.<\/p>\n

Upon remembering my bikes, I’ve been riding small wheel bikes or 26″ old MTBs.<\/p>\n

I know 700C rides nice and fast, but I do love the bike with low center of gravity and wide tire capacity.<\/p>\n

In addition to that, it has a canti brake option! I couldn’t help getting it for myself.
\n\"\"
\nThis sophisticated looks.<\/p>\n

Umm, it’s cool.<\/p>\n

My mind has cleared somehow and I’ve been hooked with its cute appearance.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Small wheel bike is hard for OMM…”<\/p>\n

I didn’t think much about it and just headed to the event.\"\"
\nIn conclusion, OMM was too nice. Stupid Tourist is really fun.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It doesn’t have any annoying quickness of handling and accelerates as much as I pedal.<\/p>\n

I could have ridden throughout the field except huge gaps and obstacles.\u00a0\"\"
\nBut, I do recommend going disc brake option if you’d like to go serious off-road riding.<\/p>\n

Canti brake doesn’t work as well as disc brake and there have been a few points that I couldn’t go through (CRUST is really nice to have both canti and disc brake options!)<\/p>\n

To be honest, I’m sure there’re many bikes which is suitable for OMM, but I could have great memories with my favorite bike.

FYI, the result was…<\/p>\n

I said like “Please let me set the route because I studied the geography at the uni!”<\/p>\n

And everybody trusted me, but the route was crazy and it ended up in indescribable result. I’m sorry…<\/p>\n

But, I got a Japanese stag beetle with Tara in that night, so it’s alright!<\/p>\n

Just take it easy, guys.<\/p>\n

OMM was such a great adventure.<\/p>\n

Also, I visited various places with it.<\/p>\n

Recently, I’m in the mood of new hobby, named “Tokyo Geography Exploration Ride”.\"\"<\/p>\n

Concrete jungle, Tokyo.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If you have a closer look at a map, you’ll see valleys and hills even in the crowded city like Tokyo.<\/p>\n

I actually went there on Stupid Tourist, riding along the valley and climbing up to the high ground.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Even landscapes which seemed identical before have their own character and history. Just pedal to feel it.<\/p>\n

That’s the concept I decided for this ride, lol.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Stop-and-go, ups and downs, bumpy roads-city is full of this kind of stuffs and it’s surprisingly tiring.<\/p>\n

But with Stupid Tourist, I can breeze through those problems.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Small wheel rotates really light and it’s good for climbs.<\/p>\n

The wide tire capacity allows me to ride smoothly even on the rough roads.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Humming a tune, I leisurely cruised in the Tokyo’s complex streets and enjoyed the scenery.<\/p>\n

\nHill ride in the damn hot weather was my recent favorite.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But, I really love bugs and wanna go to mountains.<\/p>\n

Stupid Tourist can cover it as well.<\/p>\n

\nThis is the photo from the ride on the other day.<\/p>\n

I took Stupid Tourist onto the trains and went to a certain lake for hunting a dragonfly larva.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Searching ponds and puddles with a net, I just explored the animal trails which is not listed on the map.<\/p>\n

After I checked some points, I found a black shadow in the water.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It seemed to be a dragonfly larva from its slender yet powerful silhouette, so I immediately opened my field guide to identify it.
\n\"\"
\nFinally, I made it!<\/p>\n

From the shadows of the quiet lakeside forest, I yelled like Yes! before I could stop it.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Stupid Tourist helps me out so much and I could search where I couldn’t by walk.<\/p>\n

He is the MVP of the day.
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

Take your time getting to the destination by train or car with your bike, then fully enjoy the short off-road riding to the goal.<\/p>\n

That’s the ride and way I do recommend to enjoy Stupid Tourist.<\/p>\n

I love bugs and the nature, but I live in the city and mostly ride a bike to go anywhere.<\/p>\n

Stupid Tourist fits my lifestyle perfectly.<\/p>\n

Thank to him, I’m one step closer to be a nature-loving city boy?<\/p>\n

Or maybe he’s already been, haha.<\/p>\n

Anyway, I’m totally in love with Stupid Tourist which looks great in both the nature and city.<\/p>\n
