It’s mid September now, but boy, it is hot outside. I don’t like summer, but it is a good season to move my body, so I am riding the most in the summer.<\/p>\n

I always go out on Tuesday nights and try to learn tricks and the time I can land a trick the most is in summer. I think some people can relate. I’d also love to know how you warm up during the winter time.<\/p>\n

I’ve been riding my flat bar converted Bombora to rides with colleges n stuff. Bombora is always the best bike to ride off-road in my opinion.<\/p>\n

I have also been riding the Crust Stupid Tourist for commuting. I love this thing.<\/p>\n

It’s true that they are not as fast as full size bikes, but I love the rigidity of the compact frame and how it feels to pedal. The fat tires make the bike stable, but what I like what the small wheel offers is definitely the easiness of moving forward from the first pedal stroke. I’m starting to understand why mini-velos make so much sense.<\/p>\n

I honestly didn’t think this bike would become my daily bike. I just thought it was gonna be one of those experimental bikes with the Ritchey Break-Away System and all, but the bike is growing on me very quickly. I want to make this bike even more comfortable! What should I do next…<\/p>\n

I wanted to introduce you to Cyber Cycles,<\/a> who are the people behind the cranks I have on my Stupid Tourist.<\/p>\n

This is actually the second time we received their products.<\/p>\n

Cyber Cycles is a is a German handmade frame and parts brand by Stefano and Horst. They are a rare brand that uses proven techniques to recreate cult-favorite parts from the 80s and 90s, adapting them for modern purposes and specifications<\/p>\n

Stefano Agresti welds the crank.<\/p>\n

With a lineage of frame builders going back to his grandfather’s generation\u2014Stefano himself has been welding bicycle frames for 40 years and he is one of the first people to make TIG welded bicycle frames in Germany. Isn’t that amazing? He is able to weld steel, titanium, aluminum and other metal materials to make a bike, all by himself.<\/p>\n

The Cyber Cranks are made by someone straight out of a history book of bicycles.<\/p>\n

CYBER CRANKS GR-II<\/a><\/p>\n

The GR cranks are designed for gravel bikes. It’s the type where the 24mm spindle goes into the BB. They are also called the direct mount type, as well as the OR crank I’m writing about next.<\/p>\n

They are available in black and raw (matte clear coat)<\/p>\n

CYBER CRANKS OR-II<\/a><\/p>\n

This is for a Boost chain line, in other words, for MTBs.<\/p>\n

If you want to put them on gravel or MTBs, choose the GR or ST for proper chain line<\/p>\n

Lastly, CYBER CRANK ST<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This is for square taper bottom brackets. They work on single speed bikes, gravel bikes or MTBs by changing the axle length of the BB. These are only available in raw.<\/p>\n

The cranks shown as “raw finish” were specially clear coated for us.<\/p>\n

All crank arms are hollow, which is the same thing as steel frames. It takes time and skills to produce.<\/p>\n

They are handmade, so they do cost more than your average crank, but this is only possible for Cyber Cycles, so check them out!<\/p>\n
