We made these big cargo nets with Genosack,<\/a> a couple months ago. I was so stoked for the idea of a big cargo net since I’ve seen the Geno dudes use our cargo nets before.<\/p>\n

I’m also happy to announce that the big cargo nets are now available in other colors.<\/p>\n

The two tone nest are actually hand knitted by Japanese craftsmen. It is apparently impossible for machines to knit a net in two colors. The reason for this is that the rubber material we use for the product is too tough for a machine to do precise knitting.<\/p>\n

Yes, it must be a pain for the craftsmen, but this product provides us safety to basket packing and they last a long time.<\/p>\n

When it comes to the sizing, you can see the image below. You can also get the gist of it with the image above with the Thermarest. You can pretty much cover the entire 51mm with mattress with the nets.<\/p>\n

Most people would probably be using a basket with the cargo nets, so let’s compare using a basket.<\/p>\n

The image above is the comparison I did with the Wald 139 basket, which is the bigger version of their classic baskets.<\/p>\n

It doesn’t completely cover the 139 basket. There will be a small opening on both sides, but you can stretch the cargo net to cover it all. If you carry a lot of stuff on a 139 basket, I highly recommend the Cargo Net Big.<\/p>\n

The 137 basket works perfectly with the regular cargo nets and the 139 works with the big one. Don’t think too much on this.<\/p>\n

Carabiner + Resin hooks are still the way you hook the net to the basket.<\/p>\n

Okay, enough messing around.<\/p>\n

Sub was using the regular size cargo net when we went on a bikepacking trip the other day. He put his gloves under the net when he wasn’t using them or had his jacket shoved in the net when he took it off. I was happy to see the cargo net come in handy for him.<\/p>\n

These cargo nets are always good to have for both daily use and for bike touring.<\/p>\n
