Today, I’m writing about the Surly Midnight Special.<\/p>\n

Surly describes the bike as “Road Plus Bike That Tackles Pavement & Gravel”<\/p>\n

That’s right. A road plus that can take 650 x 47B tires.<\/p>\n

The outer diameter of 700 x 28C and 650 x 47B tires are actually almost the same.<\/p>\n

Of course, the 700c tires are more light weight compared to 650b tires, and makes less contact with the ground, so 700c tires roll well. However, the Midnight Special can fit tires that are about the same diameter of a 700c tire that are about 60mm wide. You can ride clean or shitty pavement, gravel, and more different terrain. It’s literally an all-road bike.<\/p>\n
