Now it&#8217;s a good time to share some of those updates.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Our guest for today&#8217;s blog is the bike I built it right after I joined Blue Lug, SURLY Long Haul Trucker.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"*SURLY* long haul trucker (52)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/bluelug\/49471650382\/in\/photolist-2inD9mS-2inD96m-2inD9hJ-2inD9g6-2inD9iW-2inztF2-2inBZWM-2inztv2-2inD97i-2inD9gS-2inBZYL-2inD9jN-2inztwQ-2inztEk-2inD9eT-2inC138\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/49471650382_7135294311_h.jpg\" alt=\"*SURLY* long haul trucker (52)\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1067\" \/><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>When I first built this bike in 2018, I was so into Old MTBs. So I built my LTH with 26&#8243; tires, with a YETI painted frame! Looking back at it now, it still looks FRESH.<\/p>\n<p>This photo is how it looked in 2020&#8230; (Wait, where are those cranks? somewhere in my house&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p>I was not here to share how good SURLY is for this blog, but I have to say this. I LOVE that we can do whatever custom to their bikes, but even though we thought we&#8217;ve done it all, there&#8217;s always room to do more.<\/p>\n<p>(For example, having a 8-speed rear down tube shifter on the left side of the down tube&#8230; had to try these out!)<br \/>\n<a title=\"*SURLY* long haul trucker (52)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/bluelug\/49471650437\/in\/photolist-2inD9mS-2inD96m-2inD9hJ-2inD9g6-2inD9iW-2inztF2-2inBZWM-2inztv2-2inD97i-2inD9gS-2inBZYL-2inD9jN-2inztwQ-2inztEk-2inD9eT-2inC138\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/49471650437_e34dfb53b5_h.jpg\" alt=\"*SURLY* long haul trucker (52)\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1067\" \/><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>And a few years have passed&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>and now it looks like this.<br \/>\n<a title=\"*SURLY* long haul trucker (52)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/bluelug\/52985046258\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52985046258_35581828ac_h.jpg\" alt=\"*SURLY* long haul trucker (52)\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1067\" \/><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>I attached a <a href=\"https:\/\/global.bluelug.com\/crust-bikes-clydesdale-cargo-fork.html\">Cargo Fork by CRUST<\/a> and gifted extra ability, as well as updating its VIBE.<\/p>\n<p>I initially had this fork on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/bluelug\/45257501442\/in\/photolist-2bXfwr1-2bXfxcj-2bXfx6N-2bXfx1C-2bXfwhJ-29gacJf-2bXfwXb-2bXfwSS-2bXfwmS-2bXfw3A-2bXfwu7-2bXfwcU-2bXfxdb-2bXfwyf-2bXfwMb-2bXfwzY-2bXfwP5-2bXfwFj\">GT&#8217;s Old MTB<\/a>, but when I tripped myself over with this bike, The frame became out of service, and only the fork remained. Built with the rim that was lying around. SURLY, CRUST, and BMX all in one. I remember BMX brand KHE releasing a carbon copy of the original pedal after MKS discontinued it&#8230; Anyway, so unique to its own, I love it.<br \/>\n<a title=\"*SURLY* long haul trucker (52)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/bluelug\/52984587136\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52984587136_0ffab7156c_h.jpg\" alt=\"*SURLY* long haul trucker (52)\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1067\" \/><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>I like the 1.95&#8243; size.
